Maglen

selection range

Maglen Pinot Nero Riserva is a selection of precious grapes from two adjacent and complementary areas: historic vineyards on the Mazon plateau and steep and sunny vineyards in Glen. It typifies the elegance of Italian Pinot noir.

"

Rich in extracts and of profound depth. You will be conquered by sweet sour cherries, juicy red berries and lively spices. Preferable to many ordinary Burgundy wines.

VINTAGE

vintage description

A mild and sunny winter with little rainfall was followed by a dry March, which resulted in relatively early budburst. Spring was cool and rainy, while warm sunny days alternated with rainy days in June. A hot summer, followed by rain at the beginning of September, demanded a lot of effort from our wine growers, which was in turn rewarded with a splendid autumn and ideal harvest conditions. Meticulous work in the vineyard, experience and commitment allowed our wine-growing members to brilliantly overcome the many challenges of this vintage. The white wines of the 2023 vintage are fresh and delicate and convince with their juicy freshness. The red wines, especially the Pinot Noir, are characterised by elegance and finesse.

Winemaking

At harvest, the grapes are delivered in small bins and gently destemmed and crushed. After 3 to 5 days of cold maceration (15% whole grapes), fermentation takes place slowly at controlled temperatures (26°C) in large oak casks with repeated punch-downs of the must to bring forth the typical aromas of the grape variety.

MATURATION
